One of the main joys for us of building Hutch is finding the myriad of independent sellers from across the UK and their amazing collections of vintage and second-hand pieces. So to kick of 2021 the Hutch team have rounded up their favourite trends, showing you what we will be buying this year.

Georgie

Salt & Pepper Shakers

"I have enjoyed seeing the wide variety of vintage salt and pepper shakers appearing on Instagram recently. An item we often don't think much about, there is such a variety of designs, and they can spruce up anyone's dining table (even if you are only eating with your bubble!)"

Candlesticks

"As I have spent more time at home over the past year I have looked for small ways of bringing joy into my home. Candles are one of my favourite ways to relax, bringing the perfect mood lighting to any room. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to display them and I love a candlestick holder. From metal to glass to ceramic I am enjoying all the different shapes and colours available"

Magazine Stands

"I have always loved reading magazines, from Vogue to House & Garden, so having a chic magazine stand to store recent editions is top of my 2021 list. I am currently torn between the kitsch 70's bamboo designs and the more minimal mid-century metal styles."

Shells

"The seaside is a constant source of inspiration for me and my Instagram feed has been full of shell pieces recently. From vintage metal moulds to ceramic dishes, these shell pieces would be a fun addition to any table in 2021 (whilst hoping that we get back to hosting again soon!)"

Wall baskets

"I love the varying texture and colours you can get with a collection of baskets. Displaying a constellation of shallow ones on a wall is a great way to break up a large blank space, rather than having to source a huge picture or hanging."

Glug/gurgle/gluggle jugs

"They are called a smattering of various names, but you can't beat a good glug jug. I bought one for my mum last year after she renovated her bathroom and was tempted to keep it for myself... They come in a range of sizes and colours, and can be used as vases, ornaments or as water jugs - making an iconic 'gurgling' noise as you pour. "

Dried Flowers

“When it comes to interiors, I love the idea of bringing the outside in. One trend that I love, which is making a chic comeback, are bouquets of dried flowers. From colourful arrangements to more neutral tones, there are so many options which look great in any room. Styled in a fun, oversized vase, not a lot beats a beautiful bouquet which is going flower all year round!"
