About Hutch
The Team
Hutch was founded by sisters Katie & Georgie in Spring 2020, since then they have grown the small Hutch team.
Katie is Hutch's business brain with a background in retail consultancy, design start-ups and the public art sector. Ceramics are her weakness, but her latest bargain buy was a pair of brass table lamps from Norfolk.
After studying for a Masters in sustainable business, Georgie was recruited by a prison charity specialising in hand-stitched textiles and homeware. She's drawn to bright pops of colour married with a clean aesthetic.
Where it began
Something good had to come out of the pandemic, right? During lockdown, we had the time and space to nurture the seed of an idea planted through years of renting in London. Hutch was inspired by our own experience wanting to furnish our apartments in an affordable but sustainable way.
Our Mantra
We believe great design has the power to transform how we live and feel. We want to make it easier for you to browse, buy and sell second hand homeware, opening up a curated marketplace based on accessibility, diversity and inclusion.
From working in start-ups and charities, Emma’s experience is in all things press and marketing. She loves interior schemes which couple natural materials with soft textures, with a focus on bringing the outside in.
Megan's editorial career spans interior design magazines, social media and video production. Nurturing a love of mid-century design, her perfect Sunday is spent trawling south London's flea markets.
