7 ways to display flowers with objects from your home

Spring has sprung and what better way to celebrate than filling your home with some joyous blooms? Whether you are out foraging for greenery or supporting a local florist, having flowers in the home is a certified mood lifter.

The internet is full of inspiring ideas on how to arrange and display your flowers, so we have rounded up the seven best ways to use objects from around the home.

1. Glass Vessels (Test Tubes, Bottles, Jars etc.)

Glassware can be a perfect way to show off flowers, whether small mismatched jars clustered together or a few big vessels. You can save old jars and milk bottles or look out for re-used test tubes or vases to collect. 2. Mismatched Ceramics

A mismatched collection of ceramics can come to life when used as a floral display. Whether they are pieces you have found in charity shops or family heirlooms handed down, these offer an eclectic and vibrant way to display flowers.

One trick for making sure the flower arrangement is visually impactful is to use similar colours or ceramic styles, a sense of cohesion can pull the display together perfectly.

3. Jugs

A simple ceramic, glass or metal jug is a useful vessel to have when displaying flowers. They work well as a table centerpiece or when adorning decorative furniture or mantlepieces.

4. Enamelware

Enamelware has become increasingly popular within the home, favoured for its practicality and simplicity of design. Enamelware pieces can often be found cheaply second-hand and often look better with age. 5. Terrines & Dishes

Soup terrines and dishes aren't always the obvious choice for flowers, but their wide shape makes them the perfect dish for billowing bulbs or tumbling flowers.

6. Vintage Ink Pots

Vintage ink pots can be picked up easily and cheaply at many second-hand fairs and in charity shops. They provide a great earthy texture to offset the delicate florals, but are also a perfect way to break up a bouquet into smaller displays.
